Vehicle Description
1979 Ford F-150 Ranger Lariat 4x4 Short Bed Original. We have to believe this is one of the most solid and original 1979 Ford F-150s left in existence. It certainly doesn't hurt that, according to the Marti Report, it is one of only 31 produced with this color and trim combination.
Powered by the desirable 351M V8 and paired with a C6 automatic transmission, this truck is equipped with factory air conditioning and finished in stunning Walnut Glow over Gold Metallic with a Sand interior. It features a 3.50 gear ratio and was built in North Carolina. Simply put, this truck is incredible.
This is a two-owner vehicle, and the only modifications are a replacement seat and a set of 33-inch BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires mounted on alloy wheels. It retains its factory radio, factory paint, factory trim, and even the properly fitted fender flares, which are virtually impossible to find today. They are not hiding anything either—one of the flares has been removed and photographed to validate the truck's rust-free condition.
The aftermarket fog lights are wired using a vintage Sears & Roebuck switch mounted in the dash, and just above it, the original safety precaution sticker remains in place. The truck also features a perfect headliner, an excellent dash pad, the original delivering dealer's sticker still affixed to the tailgate, and even the original bias-ply spare tire mounted underneath the bed.
This truck will do nothing but continue to appreciate in value. Compared to many of the cobbled-together examples recently crossing the block at major auctions, this one is an absolute gem. If you've been searching for an investment-grade, highly original 1979 Ford F-150 Ranger Lariat 4x4, it would be hard to find a better candidate.
